Needed for Research Study: Nurse Educators using Flipped Teaching Approaches

My name is Julia Vicente. I am a doctoral student at Capella University conducting a research study.

Your experiences will contribute to research on an innovative teaching approach in nursing education.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you meet these three criteria:

  1. Do you hold a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university?
  2. Are you teaching in an associate or bachelor’s degree nursing program that has a face-to-face component?
  3. Do you have experience with flipped pedagogy or have you used flipped approaches in your nursing courses?

There is no cost to participate. Participation is voluntary. You may quit at any time. Your responses will be kept confidential. Participants will receive a $25.00 coffeehouse gift card as a gesture of appreciation.

I would greatly appreciate your time for an interview. Interviews will be conducted in an online environment using Skype or Zoom technology. An Interview will take about one hour and will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you.

I am using a snowball sampling method to discover and contact potential participants for this study. I would appreciate any suggestions of other instructors you may know who have also used flipped pedagogical approaches in their teaching practices for their courses or classes. Please share my contact information with any colleagues who you believe may be able to contribute to this study, and ask them to contact me at their earliest convenience. Alternately, if they express interest in participating but would like me to follow up, I would appreciate you forwarding their contact information to me.

If you are interested or would like more information on this study, please contact Julia at  jvicente1@capellauniversity.edu

Thank You.
