I invite corrections to my Spanish (or English). We plan (and always have with OpenFlip) to support work in both English and Spanish since Ken and April are native speakers of English with enough Spanish to work with teachers in both languages. Feel free to pursue this course in your language of choice or even try interacting with participants in both languages. Párrafaros alternando aquí de inglés y español. Tenemos planeado (y siempre ha sido así con OpenFlip) dar soporte en inglés y español dado que Ken y April tienen inglés como su lengua nativo con suficiente nivel en español para trabajar con maestros en los dos idiomas. Están bienvenidos en participar en el curso en cualquier de los dos idiomas o incluso dar el reto de interactuar con participantes con los dos.  

Shorter Version / Versión Corto

I had requests to make this a shorter version of the course. Originally this was a four week planned experience (summer 2014) that ended up being about six weeks. The course grew to eight weeks and I believe it is time to reign it in tighter again. Me pidieron hacer un versión más corto del curso. Originalmente la experiencia fue planeado de cuatro semanas (verano 2014) y realmente fue seis semanas. El curso creció hasta ocho semanas y siento que ya debemos hacerlo más compacto.

Welcome to April

I’ve known April Gunderath (@agudteach on Twitter, personal blog) since my first FlipCon in 2014. Actually we barely met since I didn’t run into her until the end when I took a quick moment to introduce myself and tell her I really liked her work. We spent more time discussing (on conference site and more importantly at off-site group meetups) at FlipCon 2015 and have had the chance to interact through this course with April as a guest in Winter 2015 and Winter 2016. April does excellent work and we both thought it would be great to share the coordination this time around. Conocí a April Gunderath (@agudteach en Twitter, blog personal) desde mi primer FlipCon en 2014. La verdad solamente la encontré al final del congreso para saludarla y decirle que me gusta mucho su trabajo. Tuvimos chance de hablar más en el congreso de FlipCon 2015 en las sesiones formales del evento y informales afuera y también participó April como invitada en Google Hangouts on Air en nuestros versiones de OpenFlip de invierno 2015 y invierno de 2016.  El trabajo de April es excelente y los dos (April y yo) decidimos que será un excelente idea trabajar juntos para OpenFlip primavera 2016.

Get Started

The course starts the first week of June (so Monday May 30th) with our traditional “week zero”. The idea of week zero is for everyone to get their tools setup which includes a blog, Twitter account and their Google account to participate in Google Hangouts on Air). We then go into four weeks to cover each of the four pillars of #flipclass. That’s it, the five weeks of the course. El curso empieza en la primera semana de junio (entonces el lunes 30 de mayo) con nuestro tradicional “semana cero”. La idea de semana cero es que todos tienen tiempo para preparar sus herramientas como blog, cuenta de Twitter y su cuenta de Google (para participar en Hangouts de Google en linea). Continuamos con las cuatro semanas enfocado en las cuatro pilares de #flipclass. Con eso es todo, solamente cinco semanas para el curso. How do you sign up?
