#Flipblogs – An Extended Online Flipped Learning Conversation

Come Explore the Great Topics and Dialogues from Prior #Flipblogs Posts & Chats (and Please Join us for an Upcoming #Flipblogs Extended Conversation – every other Wednesday 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific)

NOTE: #Flipblogs has taken a bit of a hiatus. We hope to get started again in the new year! In the meanwhile, the #flipclass chat happens Mondays on Twitter at 8 PM Eastern, so feel free to jump in there!

In July of 2017, Andrew Swan (@flipping_A_Tchr), Crystal Kirch (@crystalkirch), and Matthew Moore (@matthew_t_moore) with the support of the flipped learning community, launched “#flipblogs”! Andrew Swan has been in the drivers seat throughout this undertaking, so much thanks to him (check out Andrew’s guest appearance on the Visions of Education podcast to hear him talk about #flipblogs).

As illustrated in the graphic below, the concept of #flipblogs is that a question is posed, interested teachers can write a blog post in response to the question, then there is a live Twitter chat focused on this question and the posts that teachers wrote in response to it. The dialogue can continue online afterwards.

Naturally, anyone can participate – you don’t have to write a post, and you can follow the #flipblogs dialogue on Twitter or participate in the live Twitter chat.

The first few #flipblogs chats have been a lot of fun, and quite informative. To make the most of these great dialogues and all of the ideas and information shared in them, we will be “cataloging” them here – listing the question, providing a link to a Google worksheet that has links to each of the posts written about that topic, and providing a link to the Storified version of the Twitter chat. There are some great resources here, so enjoy! If you haven’t participated in some way in one of these #flipblogs dialogues, we hope you will join us for a future one!
