Jon Bergmann --  Secretary/treasurer for the FLN, Jon Bergmann is considered one of the pioneers in the Flipped Class movement after successfully flipping his own classroom and sharing the teaching model with other educators.  He has since co-written the book, Flip Your Classroom: Reach Every Student in Every Class Every Day. Jon believes educators should ask one guiding question:  What is best for the students in my classroom?  To the best of his abilities, he has done this in his twenty-six years as an educator.  He received the Presidential Award for Excellence for Math and Science Teaching in 2002 and was named Semi-Finalist for Colorado Teacher of the Year in 2010.  Additionally, Jon serves on the advisory board of TED Education and hosts “The Flip Side,” a radio show which tells the stories of Flipped educators. Brian Bennett -- Chairman of the board for FLN, Brian E. Bennett began as a chemistry teacher in South Korea and most recently in Indiana. Three years ago, he made the decision to flip his classroom because there was a need he couldn’t meet using traditional teaching. Since he’s flipped his classroom, Brian has learned that he can effectively meet students’ needs using technology. Brian has shared both his successes and failures with the Flipped Classroom in Korea, Malaysia, Russia, and the United States. He is a graduate of Asbury College in Kentucky. Helaine W. Marshall -- Dr. Marshall began her career as a middle school French teacher in Newton, MA, and then, after supporting herself teaching English while living in France for two years, she decided to move into TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).  She has a B.A. and M.A. in French from Tufts University and a doctorate in TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University.  Currently Helaine is Director of Language Education Programs and Associate Professor of Education at Long Island University - Hudson Graduate Campus, teaching courses in TESOL methodology, linguistics for teachers, and multicultural education. Helaine flipped her first teacher education course in Spring 2012 as part of a teaching innovation grant, and she found the results so positive, that she repeated the flip in Spring 2013. Her forthcoming book, Making the Transition: Culturally Responsive Teaching for Struggling Language Learners, includes a chapter on the flipped classroom for ESL students.  You can find out more about Helaine at http://malpeducation.com/

Julie Schell - Dr. Schell is a Director of OnRamps and Strategic Initiatives at The University of Texas at Austin's (UT-Austin) Center for Teaching and Learning where she leads signature, dual-credit curricular innovations that extend the reach of the University. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT-Austin's top ranked College of Education, where she teaches a new graduate course, Technology and Innovation in Higher Education. With UT, she currently hold a dual appointment as an associate in the Mazur Group at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. She completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship under Eric Mazur at Harvard University. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education, has written and presented widely on Peer Instruction, and has held positions at the nation's top research universities. She holds a doctorate in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and an M.S. in Counseling and Educational Psychology, with an emphasis in instructional technology, from the University of Nevada, Reno. Justin Aglio is the Director of Innovation at Montour School District. Justin has been nationally recognized for helping children and families and as a leader in educational reform. Justin was recognized by the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT) as the 2014 Outstanding Leader of the Year and 2013 International Society for Technology of Education (ISTE) as an Emerging Leader. Justin was one of three featured Principal’s in the book Best Practices of Literacy Leaders.
Prior to coming to Montour, Justin served as the principal of the Upper School at The Environmental Charter School at Frick Park (ECS). Justin also served as a principal at Propel Charter Schools and under his leadership, his schools received numerous awards.
Justin was also a teacher, administrator, and Evening High School Coordinator for Charles County Public Schools, MD. As a Vice Principal at Maurice J. McDonough High School, the school was named a “Top Ten Great Public High School in the Metropolitan Area” by The Washington Post and “Top 300 High Schools in America” by Newsweek.”

Ken Bauer - Ken is a transplanted Canadian, living and working in México for over 20 years as a professor in the Computing Science Department at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Guadalajara. Ken is recognized as a leader in his institution in educational technology, innovation in pedagogy and is active in providing professional development experiences for his colleagues and staff. As part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2013, Ken received an award from the alumni association as one of the top 5% of faculty as voted on by past students.
Besides speaking international on flipped learning, Ken has been on the organizing committee for conferences on software engineering as well as education and is currently serving on the conference committee for the 7th Open Educational Resources Conference, OER16.
